Ready gang? ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
Here’s a flower to start after some light rain. It reminds me of a drooping cow. There’s been a lot going on both in my personal and professional life, but I’m trying to find balance.
Another flower from the garden.
I didn’t mention that I moved over the summer. Now at an apartment with less square footage to vacuum, which is a win in my book.
Vietnamese Cold Brew
Condensed milk, cold brew on draft
What’s Vietnamese about it, the condensed milk? There were even reviews specifically vouching for the tastiness of this drink. I gave it a shot and… well, I dumped most of it out. It tasted like bitter coffee mixed with sawdust.
I was also salty about their electric socket not working.
This was Kiki’s first PUPPUCINO!!
I’ve asked for it twice at different Starbucks locations and when I ask for a Puppucino, they’ve responded, “You mean whipped cream?”
Well, yes, I mean whipped cream, but Starbucks has branded it as a Puppucino. I’d feel just as silly asking for a cup of whipped cream, and that’s exactly what one of the baristas said when he served my order.
“Cup of whipped cream,” he said while everyone stared weirdly at me. Kiki’s reaction was worth it though.
I celebrated another year older and (hopefully) wiser with beloveds, lots of food, and my birth date twin, Nathan (on the very left holding a Victoria’s Secret bag).
We did an escape room titled “Pet Zombies” prior to dinner, and Kayla and I got split into the group where we get handcuffed to a wall. We were so close to completing the puzzle, but got stuck on the last one!
IN OTHER NEWS, SUNFLOWERS.
I’m not exactly sure how they became so droopy. Too little water, too much? Not enough sun? They ended up looking like skeletons with a full fleshed head, beautiful and creepy at the same time.
One of them was dying on me and I snipped it. I read online about someone putting their dying sunflower into a milk jug and it regrowing roots, and tried to do something similar.
Lo and behold, it survived and even bloomed!! The resilience of plant life is inspiring.
Flowers by the window to keep me company.
I also live nearby a park and take walks with Kiki there often. There’s a bunch of butterflies, geese, squirrels, and a pond that’s filled with bass and other fish (see photos below).
Most recently I took Kiki for a walk to a park out-of-town. My GPS stopped working and I lost about half hour or so, but the walk was well worth it. There were even some parts I got to let him walk around without a leash. I wish I could do all the time!
